The upcoming 2013 movie releases are at first thought by some experts to be the ones that will further push the sense of originality when it comes to the storyline. However, from the initial line up of movies that are set to be released in 2013, we can instead expect a lot of prequels and sequels to previous big hit and even slightly successful movies. Among the lists are Will Smith’s “I am Legend 2”, Vin Diesel’s “Fast and the Furious 6”, Robert Downey Jr. in “Iron Man 3”, Ryan Reynold’s “Green Lantern 2” and “Robocop”.

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy has become a big hit. It’s based on the book series with the same titles. And in 2013 we will see a prequel to the amazing story. This will be the part of the story of The Hobbit. This movie will be titled as “The Hobbit: There and Back Again.” The story will be around Bilbo, an adventurous and contented hobbit who will find himself being swept together with a wizard and 12 dwarves in a quest to find the buried treasure. And it is in this quest where he will find the most coveted golden ring.

In 2001, the movie “Monsters Inc.” was released by Disney and Pixar. This movie featured the lovable monsters namely Sulley and Mike Wazowski. They are the top pair in the scream-processing plant called as Monsters Inc. But in the turn of events, Sully has brought back with him a little girl he named as Boo. Now it was up to Mike and Sully to keep Boo from the sight the other monsters and take her back home. The “Monsters Inc.” broke the sales record in 2001 with more than 11 million DVD/VCD/VHS copies sold in the first week. The movie grossed a total of $526.9 million sales worldwide. It also won an Academy Award for the Best Song. And we will see another round of this big hit movie in January 18, 2013, this time it will be titled as “Monsters University”.

And last but the least in this must see upcoming 2013 movies releases is “Liberace” which casts big stars such as Michael Douglas and Matt Damon. This movie is about “Liberace” and his 24 year old gay lover, Scott Thorson that will be played by Matt Damon. This movie will be directed by Steven Soderbergh.
