Pete Rose Baseball Cards
Here are a few of the best baseball cards of legend Pete Rose. I previously profiled the Rose Rookie Card Here. This is the 1965 Pete Rose baseball card by Topps. Pete Rose was the rookie of the year in 1963, but 1965 was his first 200 hit season. Rose had 209 hits and a .312 batting average.
1975 Topps Pete Rose Baseball Card. Pete Rose, along with Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench, and Tony Perez, to name a few, formed the core of the "Big Red Machine". The great Reds team that dominated the mid 70's. Rose had another fantastic season, collecting 210 hits. Pete Rose was the 1975 World Series MVP.
1978 Topps Pete Rose Record Breaker Baseball Card. What a banner year for Pete Rose. He got his career 3,000 hit on May 5, against Steve Rogers of the Montreal Expos. This season Rose made a run at Joe DiMaggio's 56 game hit streak. Pete fell short and his hit streak ended at 44 games.
Finally, the 1985 Pete Rose Baseball Card. This is another Topps Record Breaker card. This was the year Pete became the all time hits leader. He surpassed Ty Cobb, when he collected his 4,192 hit. This is a major league baseball record that will likely never be broken.
Pete Rose was one of the greatest players to ever play major league baseball. Unfortunately, he has been banned for life from the game, and put on the Hall of Fame ineligibilty list. These measures were put in place because Rose was found guilty of betting on baeball games. My hope is that one day
Pete Rose will be reinstated and can take his spot in Cooperstown where he belongs.
